New Vostro 1500 laptop- keys hestitate

I’m new to the forum and am trying to fix my mother Vostro 1500 to correct the slow keayboard/typing program, which occurs in all programs under her profile/account on her computer, but, interestingly enough, not under my profile/account. I am new to all this so I would appreciate your patience and guidance. Can you give me or direct me to a step-by-step process (all menu steps, etc.) for disabling the PCMservice.exe and the hotkey poller? Is it same for me to disable PCMservice.exe (without upsetting the computer’s other process, which other blog entries said occurred when they disabled it) using the following instructions for another posting I read:

“Hey John .. You’re a life saver .. Thanks for posting the bit about the PCMService .. My Vostro 1400 (2.4ghz, 4GBDDR2) is now working fine .. The keyboard typing lag was unbearable .. Anywho what i did was:
1) GOTO http://www.mlin.net/
2) CLICK STARTUP CONTROL PANEL
3) DOWNLOAD STARTUP CONTROL PANEL (ITS A ZIP FILE)
4) CLICK ON the .exe file
5) GOTO CONTROL PANEL
6) CLICK “Startup”
7) CLICK ON THE TAB THAT READS “HKLM/Run”
UNCHECK “PCM Service”
9) Restart the PC

& there you go .. Problem Solved ..
Now I’ve got no lag in typing what so ever!! Yaye!!”

Is www.mlin.net a reputable site? Please advise. I would love to get step-by-step instructions for solving this problem once and for all and saving my mother’s sanity!
